Growing up I was often doodling in my notebooks in school letting my imagination run wild on the inside pages. As a young child, my parents enrolled me in fine art workshops for children. My high school art teacher wanted me to pursue fine arts as a career. Throughout my life, I have always dabbled in fine arts or anything involving creativity as a hobby. There are no boundaries. Inspiration is unlimited and I have applied this in everything from wood carving, pottery, writing poetry and short stories, photography, Chinese ink painting, crafts to designing cloths and jewellery. Art for me is an expression of the soul and very therapeutic for the mind. I thoroughly enjoy delving in and creating something beautiful. Because of my passion in the fine arts, in my 40s I attended the University of Calgary and graduated with a Visual Design specializing in Art Theory and Practise. Now, after a very long absence of over 20 years from fine arts, I recently joined Chestermere Fine Arts Guild in 2025 to dedicate my time to creating art once again. I consider myself an Amateur level artist learning everyday especially from other expert CFAG members. Regardless of which medium I enjoy practising in sketching, markers, acrylics, oil pastels, chalk pastels, color pencils, and now just learning watercolor painting. Now that I’m retired, I’m enjoying what I love to do. The pure joy of it all.
