At the Chestermere Fine Art Guild, we are dedicated to fostering a supportive environment for artists of all levels. Our mission is to nurture creativity and provide a platform for local artists to showcase their talents. We believe in the power of art to bring people together, and our vision is to create a thriving community where artists can collaborate, learn, and inspire one another.
Art Classes and Workshops
Thursday Afternoon Art
The Chestermere Fine Art Guild meets most every Thursday from 1 p.m.to 4 p.m. to paint, visit, share and inspire. We welcome new members and encourage you to drop in and meet us, paint with us and decide if you want to join us. You can visit a few times until you get a feel for the group.
Our annual dues are $70 per year. This gives you access to our art sessions and participation in the annual art show. There are regular art workshops or demonstrations (daytime and evenings) which you can participate in at a discount.
You do not have to be a great artist, just someone who wants to learn and participate.
We have watercolour artists, acrylic artists, artists who draw, and some who do it all.
If you want to you can just show up with your kit and art supplies.

Monday Evening Art Classes Hosted by Our Own Artists!
The Guild holds twice-monthly art classes led by one of our experienced members. The classes are held on the first and third Monday of each month at 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the Chestermere Recreation Centre, Meeting Room #1.
Each class allows you to learn an art concept and then practice it by following along with the leader while they paint or draw. You may also choose to work on your own creation.
Bring your own supplies: Cost is $5 for non-members and free to members.
Supplies provided: Cost is $10 for non-members and $5 for members.
Suggested supply list:
Acrylic painters: 11×14 inch canvas (1), Acrylic paint (black, white, red, yellow, blue)
Watercolour painters: any size watercolour paper (2 or 3 pieces) or a pad, watercolour paint (black, red, yellow, blue or an inexpensive watercolour paint set)
Everyone: 3 brushes (large, medium and small), rag or paper towels, pencil, eraser.

Art Workshops
Chestermere Fine Art Guild hosts regular art workshops or demonstrations (daytime and evenings), which you can participate in at a discount. Professional artists present these events from around Alberta. Participants learn and try out new techniques and materials. Workshops/demonstrations usually run from 3 to 5 hours. Some previous workshops were given by artists Heather Pant, James Brown and Peter Lewin.
