Violette was born in France and emigrated to Canada in the late 70’s, she now resides in Calgary. After taking early retirement she started taking art classes as a hobby and as they say: “the rest is history”.

Violette is a world traveller and she loves to capture the mood of a place with an impressionistic style. These locations are precious to her because of the memories it brings back. Her travels are a great source of inspiration.

Working with watercolours is for her the most stimulating medium to be expressive and invite spontaneity. Depending on the subject, she would choose acrylics for a more impressionist style using bolder colours, more dynamic strokes and texture. She believes that the process of creating art is a non-stop learning process and is one of the most rewarding part of being an artist.

Founded by a passionate group of creatives, Chestermere Fine Art Guild has been a cornerstone for local artists seeking a nurturing environment to hone their craft. Our members, ranging from emerging talents to seasoned professionals, gather weekly to share techniques, critique works, and foster a supportive artistic community. Our mission is to cultivate a space where art thrives and artists grow, offering classes and workshops to spread our love for art far and wide.
