Dianne Gauvreau
Even in my grade school days, I felt an irresistible urge to create. The thrill of helping the teacher adorn our classroom was an exhilarating experience. As time went on, I delved into the captivating world of photography and the intricate techniques of the darkroom.
I married an artist painter/sculptor and master engraver. For 23 years, I observed his talents doing only an occasional craft with my children. It wasn’t until our separation that I dared to defy the forbidden and embrace the paint supplies, giving birth to my first painting. A fusion of emotions exploded within me, unveiling the healing and exhilarating nature of this art form.
In 1995, I embarked on a journey of exploration, delving into various art forms that resonate with a diverse audience. My dedication to art caught the attention of CBC, leading to a feature on their French channel in Canada’s renowned show, “ZigZag,” in 2006.
The following year, I married my first love, and his unwavering encouragement propelled me into a flourishing period of creativity. However, life dealt us a cruel hand as he succumbed to cancer. Even in his frail state, he yearned for me to showcase my art, and I wholeheartedly obliged, creating numerous paintings in just one month. The smile that graced his face as he attended my Art Show was a bittersweet moment, as he was my dream and passed away two months later. Yet, the flame within me to create burns ever brighter. The excitement never wanes, and I find pure joy in sharing my techniques with enthusiastic artists who grace my studio. There are no boundaries to my creativity, and one day, my story will eternally captivate your eyes, as art intertwines our souls. Welcome to Chestermere Fine Art Guild, where artists support each other in an inspiring sanctuary of artistic expression.
