Aileen Grams
I was born in Calgary and raised in the district of Ogden. After several years on the move to Vancouver and Kelowna, where I worked in the furniture store of Sears Canada as a decorator and display person, I retired and returned to Calgary to be closer to family.
My 2 artist sisters finally convinced me to try painting, which I did, first in acrylics and then later watercolor. I think I prefer acrylics. I have painted several old barns, old houses and old trucks, also several mountain scenes. I do prefer painting the beautiful mountains here in Alberta.
I am a member of Chestermere Fine Art Guild, Okotoks Art Gallery and The Vault Cultural Collective in Strathmore. For the past 3 years I have set up the Annual Chestermere Art Show.
I have taken workshops from Doug Swinton, and others, painted with Nancy Lynne Hughes for 2 years.
I love my new hobby and plan on painting for a long time.
